The global electro-chemicals manufacturer, Electrolube, will introduce Aromatic Free conformal coatings to the French market at Enova Paris in October at the Paris expo Porte de Versailles. The new fast-cure acrylic and polyurethane coatings have been formulated with specialist solvents to ensure the coatings are completely free from aromatic solvents such as Xylene and Toluene. Both coatings have been designed to protect electronic circuitry for optimum reliability and increased performance of devices. Throughput is also increased with rapid touch dry times. The modified polyurethane coating, PUCAF, is touch dry in less than 10 minutes and the transparent acrylic coating, AFA, is touch dry in less than 5 minutes.

Formulated to meet REACH, RoHS, UL, IPC and Military standards, the new aromatic free coatings demonstrate excellent mechanical and dielectric properties across a wide operating temperature range and are highly resistant to mould growth and moisture. Once cured, the coatings can also be removed with the highly effective Conformal Coating Remover Gel (CCRG), a thixotropic gel that excludes the use of dichloromethane. PUCAF and AFA also contain no isocyanates and can be soldered through without fear of highly toxic gases being produced. The coatings fluoresce under UV light for ease of inspection and are available in aerosol and bulk packaging for application by dipping, brushing or spraying.

PUCAF and AFA are two of several new coating products introduced recently to Electrolube’s established range of conformal coatings, which feature the universally popular and very widely specified coating products HPA, WBP, DCA and PUC.

Electrolube will also debut an environmentally friendly Hexane-Free Flux Remover at Enova Paris. HFFR is a fast-drying cleaning solvent that eliminates the use of the hazardous material n-Hexane. Flux removers commonly consist of a blend of solvents, which can contain low levels of n-hexane, a solvent that has been identified as hazardous to human health; long-term exposure can affect the peripheral nervous system. HFFR has been carefully formulated to eliminate low levels of n-Hexane, providing efficient removal of a wide range of flux residues from PCBs to leave a perfectly clean, dry surface with no residue.

The new aromatic free coatings will feature alongside established solutions from Electrolube’s core product groups: Cleaning, Thermal Management, Conformal Coatings, Resins, Contact Lubricants and Maintenance & Service Aids. As a solutions provider, Electrolube’s management team and expert chemists will be on stand K75 to discuss visitor requirements in more detail.
